[. . . ] INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE SAFEGUARDING THE ENVIRONMENT PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS INSTALLATION GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF REFRIGERATOR AND FREEZER OPERATION USING THE REFRIGERATOR COMPARTMENT USING THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE AFTER-SALES SERVICE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION FOR GREAT BRITAIN AND IRELAND ONLY 18 BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE • Your new appliance is designed exclusively for domestic use. To ensure best use of your appliance, carefully read the operating instructions which contain a description of the product and useful advice. After unpacking the appliance, make sure it is not damaged and that the door closes properly. Any damage must be reported to the dealer within 24 hours of delivery of the appliance. [. . . ] The acoustic signal can be deactivated by pressing the button (11) on the control panel. Note: • 4-5 hours are required for the refrigerator compartment to reach a temperature suitable for storage. • Ambient temperature, frequency of door opening and position of the appliance can affect the temperature inside the two compartments. These factors should be taken into account when setting the thermostat position. • The space between the shelves and the rear wall of the refrigerator ensures the free circulation of air. • Do not place food in direct contact with the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment. • Storing vegetables with high water content can cause condensation to form: this does not affect correct appliance operation. Storing food in the refrigerator compartment Place the food as shown in the figure. Dairy products, cheese Temperature adjustment The temperature is factory set to +5°C (display 7). To change the temperature setting, press the buttons (8) or (9) on the control panel, until the required value is obtained. Settable temperature limit: • +2 °C coldest temperature • +8 °C warmest temperature 22 USING THE REFRIGERATOR COMPARTMENT (continuation) Switching the refrigerator off (Vacation) Press the button (5) for more than 3 seconds. The temperature shown on the display (7) goes off and the green light (6) comes on. To reactivate the refrigerator operation, press the same button (5) for more than 3 seconds. Refrigerator compartment alarms The acoustic alarm is activated when the door has been left open for more than 1 minute. If the door is left open for another minute, the inside light will start flashing and will switch off after the door has been open for 10 minutes, whereas the acoustic alarm will remain activated. Pressing the Acoustic Alarm button (11) will only silence the acoustic signal, whereas the inside light will continue to behave as described above. • Place frozen foods in the freezer compartment as soon as you get home. MONTHS 2-6 F O O D 4-8 6-12 24 USING THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT (continuation) • Do not refreeze partially thawed food: Consume it within 24 hours. • Always follow the instructions given on the package for storing frozen foods. Freezer compartment alarms Freezer compartment temperature alarm When the appliance is working or during the freezing phase, the red warning light (10) may come on in conjunction with an acoustic signal, indicating that the freezer compartment temperature is not optimum for food storage. This can occur in the following cases: • during start-up; • when the appliance is switched on again after defrosting and cleaning; • when too much food is placed in the freezer; • when the freezer door does not close properly To deactivate the acoustic signal press the button (11). The red light (10) will automatically go off when optimum temperature conditions are reached. Power failure alarm If a temperature value flashes in the freezer display (4), the light (14) flashes, the acoustic signal sounds and the temperature adjustment keys are locked, it means that a power failure has occurred for a period long enough not to guarantee maintenance of the correct storage temperature. [. . . ] - Check that the door of the refrigerator compartment closes correctly to deactivate such alarm (when the door is correctly closed the displays on the control panel should go off). Should the display not go off when the door is correctly closed, contact the Customer Care Centre. • First check point 1, then: - Disconnect the appliance from the power supply. To access the lamp refer to the instructions and diagram on the attached product sheet. [. . . ]
