[. . . ] A video adapter device is required to connect a VGA monitor using the DVI-D port. n 75 N Using Peripheral Devices Connecting a Multimedia Computer Display You can connect a multimedia computer display that includes built-in speakers and a microphone to your computer or via the (optional) port replicator. To connect a multimedia computer display 1 2 3 4 Plug the power cord of the multimedia computer display (1) into an AC outlet. Plug the display cable (2) (not supplied) into the monitor (VGA) port (3) a on the computer or on the port replicator. Plug the speaker cable (4) into the headphones jack (5) i on the computer. Connect one end of an optional network cable to the Network (Ethernet) port on the computer or the (optional) port replicator and the other end to your network. The computer can be connected to the network with the default settings. !Telephone lines cannot be connected to the Network (LAN) connector on your computer.
