Choose Units . Select Kilometres if you want to display the distance information in metric units (kilometres and metres): Select Miles if you want to display the distance information in imperial units (miles and yards): 40 User Manual Volume In Main Menu , select Change settings . Choose Volume . Select & hold and drag the slider to the left (Min) to lower the volume of the voice instructions. Select & hold and drag the slider to the right (Max) to increase the volume of the voice instructions. Confirm your choice . For safety reasons, we recommend you to keep the sound switched on and listen to the voice instructions!This way, you can concentrate on the road ahead of you and avoid any unpleasant driving situations! 41 User Manual Route type In Main Menu , select Change settings . Choose Route type . Select the type of route that best reflects your navigation style: · · · · · Fastest/Car ­ navigate to your destination, by car, along the fastest route. Shortest/Car - navigate to your destination, by car, along the shortest route. Fastest/Lorry - navigate to your destination, by lorry (truck), along the fastest route. Shortest/Lorry - navigate to your destination, by lorry (truck), along the shortest route. Pedestrian - walk to your destination. Confirm your choice . 42 User Manual Avoid motorways In Main Menu , select Change settings . Choose Avoid motorways . Select On if you want to exclude motorways from your route. Select Off if you do not want to exclude motorways from your route. Avoid toll roads In Main Menu , select Change settings . Choose Avoid toll roads . Select On if you want to exclude toll roads from your route. Select Off if you do not want to exclude toll roads from your route. Avoid ferries In Main Menu , select Change settings . Choose Avoid ferries . Select On if you want to exclude ferries from your route. Select Off if you do not want to exclude ferries from your route. 43 User Manual Automatic zooming In Main Menu , select Change settings . Choose Automatic zooming . Select On if you want to automatically enlarge the map (zoom in) and see more details of the road when approaching street junctions. Select Off if you want to manually select the zoom level you need; the zoom level you selected is preserved until you manually change it. 44 User Manual Configure alarm Never underestimate the safety measures!Use this option to set a safety speed: when you navigate and reach this speed, an alarm warns you that you are driving too fast. In Main Menu , select Change settings . Choose Configure alarm . Select the numeric value (for example, 140). In the Alarm speed screen, type a different value and confirm your choice . In the Alarm type section, select the left arrow warning that automatically starts when you drive too fast: · None ­ no warning · Acoustic alarm ­ a sound warning · Visible alarm ­ a blinking warning · Both - a sound warning and a blinking warning or the right arrow to select the type of Confirm your choice . 45 User Manual Speed Feel free to further customize your navigation!These values will be considered when calculating a route, the estimated travel time and the estimated time of arrival. Please note that if you change the speed setting, the calculated routes will be different. In Main Menu , select Change settings . Choose Speed . Select a type of road (for example Motorway). In the Alarm speed screen, type a different value and confirm your choice . When you configured all speed values, confirm them . 46 User Manual Set date/time You can modify the date and time displayed by your ROUTE 66 product. In Main Menu , select Change settings . Choose Set date/time . The first three controls represent the date (year-month-day). Use the up arrow or the down arrow to select the correct values. Use the back arrow or the next arrow to select your time zone. Select Synchronize with GPS receiver to set the date and time, based on the selected time zone and the available GPS information. Confirm your choice . 47 User Manual Vertical turn arrows / Horizontal turn arrows Would you prefer to see the driving instructions (turn arrows) on the right side of the navigation screen, or at the bottom of the navigation screen?Choose the option you prefer. Calibrating means adjusting the precision and reaction of the screen. In Main Menu , select Change settings . Choose Calibrate screen . Select & hold your stylus on the cross icon centre, then in the 4 corners of the screen. +. Use our traffic messages (TMC) and make your journey more enjoyable! In Main Menu , select Change settings . Choose Configure TMC .
