Listening to your system
Using the Virtual Surround Back mode (VirtualSB)
Selecting this mode allows you to hear a virtual back channel through your surround speakers. For example, you can choose to listen to sources with no surround back channel information (for example, 5. 1 encoded material) with emulated 6. 1 encoding (VSB ON). Sometimes the material may sound better in the 5. 1 format for which it was originally encoded. In this case you can have the receiver only apply this effect to 6. 1 encoded sources like Dolby Digital EX or DTSES (VSB AUTO), or you can simply switch it off (VSB OFF). 1

Surround back speaker setting
· Default setting: SB NORM. There are several ways you can use the surround back speaker channels with this system. In addition to a normal home theater setup where they are used for the surround back speakers, they can be used for bi-amping the front speakers or as a separate speaker system in another room.
