Mains plug This apparatus is fitted with an approved 13 Amp plug. To change a fuse in this type of plug proceed as follows: 1 2 3 Remove fuse cover and fuse. If the fitted plug is not suitable for your socket outlets, it should be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted in its place. If a plug without a fuse is used, the fuse at the distribution board should not be greater than 3 Amp. [. . . ] To switch the system to Eco-power standby mode Press and hold STANDBY ON (y on the remote control) for more than 2 seconds. The Eco power light will be on. Press LOUD on the remote control to enable/ disable LOUDNESS feature. LOUDNESS feature enables the system to automatically increase the treble and bass sound effect at low volume (the higher the volume, the lower the treble and bass increase). 5 Press MUTE on the remote control to interrupt sound reproduction instantly. Playback will continue without sound. To activate sound reproduction you can: ­ press MUTE again; ­ adjust the volume controls; ­ change source. Power-saving automatic standby The power-saving feature automatically switches to standby 15 minutes after a CD/USB playback has ended and no control is operated. 14 CD/MP3 Operation To select a different track Press í/ ë once or repeatedly until the desired track number appears in the display. To find a passage within a track 1 Press and hold down on TUNING à / á (on the remote control à / á). When you recognise the passage you want, release TUNING à / á (on the remote control à / á). To playback the beginning of each track 2 IMPORTANT: The lens of the CD player should never be touched. Press INTRO on the remote control to play first 10 seconds of each track in sequence. The display freezes and the elapsed playing time flashes when playback is interrupted. ­ you select standby. Loading a disc This CD player plays Audio Discs including CDRecordables, CD-Rewritables and MP3 CD. CD-ROM, CD-I, CDV, VCD, DVD or computer CDs, however, are not possible. Press OPEN/CLOSE0 on the top of the system to open the CD compartment. Insert a disc with the printed side facing up and press down on OPEN/CLOSE0 to close the CD door. READING is displayed as the CD player scans the contents of a disc, and then the total number of tracks and playing time (or the total number of albums and tracks for MP3 disc) are shown. Playing an MP3/WMA disc 1 Load an MP3/WMA disc. The disc reading time may exceed 10 seconds due to the large number of songs compiled into one disc. Press TUNING à / á (or ALBUM/ PRESET +/- on the remote control) to select a desired album. Press 2; to start playback. 3 2 3 4 Basic playback controls To play a disc Press 2; to start playback.
