[. . . ] ⷠDo not use force when inserting or removing the adapter. To prevent damage to your scanner or injury to yourself or to others, read the following safety precautions in their entirety before using this equipment. Keep these safety instructions where all those who use the product will read them. The consequences that could result from failure to observe the precautions listed in this section are indicated by the following symbols: This icon marks warnings, information that should be read before using the device to prevent possible serious injury or death. [. . . ] When scanning, the edges of the adapter's film aperture may be visible in the scan window, where they may be out of focus or appear distorted. To remove film from the adapter, confirm that the status LED on the front of the scanner is glowing steadily and click the "eject" button ( ) in the Nikon Scan scan window. Wait until the scanner's status LED glows steadily (this may require several seconds) and then open the cover and remove the film by hand. After removing the IA-20 (S) from the scanner, be sure to close the adapter slot cover. Observe the following precautions when handling APS (IX240) film cartridges: · Do not pull the film from the cartridge. ⷠDo not drop the cartridge or subject it to strong physical shock. ⷠDo not allow dust, dirt, water, sand, or other foreign objects into the cartridge. ⷠDo not attempt to use undeveloped film in the IA-20 (S). The adaptor cover will not close when undeveloped film is inserted; do not attempt to force the cover closed. Do not touch exposed parts Should the product break open as the result of a fall or other accident, do not touch the exposed parts. Failure to observe this precaution could result in injury or electric shock. Unplug the scanner's power cable and take the product to a Nikon-authorized service center for inspection. Keep dry Do not immerse the product, get water on the product, or leave the product in the rain. Failure to observe this precaution could result in fire or electric shock. Do not use in the presence of flammable gas or dust Failure to observe this precaution could result in explosion or fire. Do not disassemble, modify, or attempt repairs Failure to obser ve this precaution could result in electric shock or in equipment malfunction leading to injury. Turn off and unplug the scanner immediately should you notice anything out of the ordinary Should you notice an unusual noise, smell, or smoke coming from the equipment, turn the scanner off at once and unplug the power cable. CAUTIONS Do not handle the equipment when your hands are wet Failure to observe this precaution could result in electric shock. Keep equipment out of reach of children Failure to observe this precaution could result in injury. The illustrations in this manual show the IA-20(S) in use with the 4000 ED/COOLSCAN IV ED film scanner. [. . . ] When you do not plan to use the adapter for an extended period of time, store it where at temperatures between ­20°C (­4°F) and 60ºC (140ºF) and the humidity is between 20% and 90%. When transpor ting the adapter, use packaging capable of withstanding strong shocks.
