APPLIANCES WITHOUT FITTED PLUG FITTING A PLUG - IMPORTANT The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code: BLUE : NEUTRAL BROWN : LIVE But the colours may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter ‘N’ or coloured black. The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter ‘L’ or coloured red. 7 This appliance is manufactured to conform to the Low Voltage Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 1989 and is designed to comply with BS 3456. - To prevent electrical hazards, damaged power leads should always be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service or a similarly qualified technician. - Always keep the power lead well clear of the blades when using the knife.
