[. . . ] ! Wipe away all oil and moisture from your rims to keep optimal braking performance. Place a rubber or other mat under your training area to keep from leaving sweat or bike stains on your floor. -3- HOW TO SETUP YOUR E-RDA-PM TRAINER <Required Tools: M5 hex wrench> 1 Open the frame support legs and fit the rubber feet at the correct angle so the base is in full contact with the floor. NOTE: If the both legs don't touch the floor at same time and if one side of the leg is still slightly raised, pull up the leg upward strongly then place the trainer on the floor again. 2 Install the Mag resistance unit on the left side slot and the assistant roller on the right side slot beside the trainer pilar using the supplied M6x12 bolts. B) NOTE: We recommend you use the reinforcement plate (SR13) for installing the Mag unit. This plate will sandwich the slot plate from outside for mounting the Mag unit giving it extra stability. (Fig. [. . . ] This is to protect your skewer from damage during use, however, should you choose to use your own skewer, you should use the supplied Grommet to insure a better fit. 5If your skewer nut design doesn't fit to the Grommet, you can remove it by inserting a rod or a pen to the hole (see Fig. I) and then lifting up the Grommet. NOTE: We will NOT guarantee any fitting problem or accident caused by using your own skewer on the trainer. When you use the supplied skewer, you should keep the Grommet on the coupling. -5- HOW TO INSTALL THE REMOTE LEVER You can install the remote lever on anywhere the diameter is between 22. 2mm (7/8") and 31. 8mm (1-1/4") like as on the handlebar. 1 2 Fully loosen the knob bolt on the plastic holder until it stops then push down the bolt to open the holder. J) Place the holder onto the handlebar, shut the holder, and pull up the bolt then tighten it. L) Depending on the diameter of your handlebar, you must adjust the shim as follows; · 22. 2mm (7/8") - 25. 4mm (1"): Install both shims. · 28. 6mm (1-1/8"): Install either right or left side shim. USING THE MAG RESISTANCE UNIT ! When you install the shim on the plastic holder, make sure the direction of the shim as shown in Fig. L. The Mag unit has 7 different levels of load force for replicating actual riding resistance. You can set your preferred maximum resistance point between high (H) and low (L) by adjusting the lever on the thumb shifter type remote lever device (see Fig. The resistance level will automatically be controlled from zero to maximum depending on your riding speed. You may also adjust the load force by shifting up or down among your gears, depending on the level desired. We recommend that you start with a medium to low load force and gradually work up, increasing force as your muscles warm up. (Fig. M) About the Maximum Resistance Level Please Note: The remote lever of the PowerMatic sets the highest resistance level of the Mag unit, not the overall resistance like other trainers. The resistance will always start from zero even you set the remote lever at any position. It will be increased when you start pedalling gradually and progressively. You can see it as the motion of the side indicator on the Mag unit (see Fig. N). -6- When it reaches the maximum level you have set, the resistance will be limited at this level, except constant increase to your speed. ! To make any adjustment to the unit, make sure you are off the bike, and that the trainer has come to a complete stop and that nothing is still moving. TROUBLE SHOOTING YOUR REMOTE SHIFTER UNIT If you cannot shift to either the lowest (L) or the highest (H) position, it is possible that the inner wire of the remote shifter cable is too long and the wire tension is loose. N) Adjusting Screw Cap 1 Set the remote shifter lever at "H" position. Remove the remote shifter device from the handlebar and straighten the cable. Inner Cable Remove the plastic cap located on the bottom of the cable. [. . . ] The combination of the orange tip of the decal and the small triangle indicator on the Governor is your initial setting (see Fig. If you want to adjust the starting speed of the resistance and change it to be higher or lower to suit your workout, you can do so by pushing down the Governor ring and rotating, then releasing the ring. (Fig. P) If you increase the inside spring tension by turning the Governor to the direction of clockwise, the starting speed will become higher. If you loosen the spring tension by turning the Governor to the direction of counter-clockwise, the startting speed will become lower. CAUTION ON YOUR FLOOR PROTECTION If you train on a carpeted surface, consider using a rubber mat or a mat of other non-marking material to eliminate the possibility of marking the carpet by the trainer, bike, or bodily fluids.
