Advanced connections
If a layer in which nothing is recorded is selected, the other layer that exists on the disc is played back automatically.
NOTE
Sound mode cannot be changed for discs with only a Super Audio CD area.

Turning the power off
[S. MODE] [POWER] [DISC]
The sound mode can also be set using "SA-CD (Switching sound mode)" (vpage 20) in the setting menu.
Press <ON/STANDBY> or [POWER].
Power is set to standby and the power indicator lights.
1 2 Check that no disc is loaded.
Turn the power on. (Press <ON/STANDBY>. )
·If the layer is switched while a disc is in the player or the disc tray is opened, the playback layer switches for that disc, but the top priority playback layer setting itself does not change.
Explanation of terms
Before setting power to standby, make sure the disc tray is completely closed.
NOTE
·Do not force the tray in by hand while power is set to standby. ·Even when power is set to standby, electrical current passes through some circuits. If you do not intend to use the unit for an extended period of time, unplug the power cord from the household power outlet.
Troubleshooting
/ 3 Press <DISC toINPUT> or [DISC] to set the playback media mode "DISC". Press [S. MODE] 4 set (Super Audioand switch to the layer you want to CD only).

Switching the input source
This unit supports the following playback functions in addition to disc playback. ·Digital audio input signal playback ·USB memory device file playback from the USB port in the front panel ·iPod file playback from the USB port in the front panel ·Computer file playback from the USB port in the rear panel Before playing back files from a connected device, perform the following operation to switch the input source.
