[. . . ] Select Actions > and one of the following options: -- Import User Quotas: Import user quotas into the system from an external file (an exported file or a text version of an Excel spreadsheet in the proper format, using the correct syntax). The file is read in, and quotas are applied, for every user in that file. This allows you to apply quotas for all users at once, instead of changing each individually. This file contains a line for every user in the system as well as their particular quotas. (The numbers in the line with "root" indicates the default values. "-1" means the user quota is default. ) Since all user list files and quota files are in text form, you can easily use the file to perform editing. -- Export User List: Exports a file that contains a list of users known to the system every user with default settings AND every user with specific settings. This file may be useful as a starting point for creating an import user quota file. A browser window opens to allow you to navigate to the source or target directory, and to specify a file name. Enter the appropriate location information, then click OK. 130 HP StorageWorks NAS 8000 User's Guide Managing Your Storage Managing Group Quotas To view and edit group quotas on the NAS server: 1. In the table that appears in the main window, expand the file volume for which you want to configure a quota. Double-click Group Quotas - Default to display a list of groups that have settings other than the default. The table listing displays the following information for each individual group quota: -- Group associated with the quota -- Space consumed by the group -- Soft limit of the quota disk space that you can temporarily exceed before cleaning up -- Hard limit of the quota disk space that cannot be surpassed by the user -- Grace period of the quota -- Email address of person to notify about exceeding space limitations You can refresh the information in the table by clicking Actions > Refresh. Managing a Group Default Quota To edit Group Quotas - Default settings: 1. Either check the No Space Limit box, or uncheck the box and type in values for the soft and hard limits. Click OK to save the changes. Note: Only one grace period can be set per file volume. Therefore, the same grace period applies to both the default group settings and each group. 131 Managing Your Storage Adding a Group Quota To add a group quota: 1. -- Either check the Use Default Quota Limits box, or uncheck the box and type in the values of the soft and hard limits. See Understanding Quotas on page 126 for an explanation of soft and hard limits. -- Enter the email address of the person to notify when the quota space is reached. Repeat steps 4 through 8 for any additional quotas you want to add. Note: The grace period for the default group quota is automatically applied to all group quotas. Editing a Group Quota To edit a group quota: 1. In the table that appears in the main window, expand the file volume for which you want to edit a quota. Selecting a group displays a dialog box in which you can see and change the current settings applied specifically to that group. 132 HP StorageWorks NAS 8000 User's Guide Managing Your Storage 7.
