To prevent electromagnetic interference with electric appliances such as radios and televisions, use shielded cables and connectors for connections. the exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance. The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage" within the product's enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons. [. . . ] the JOG WHEEL (22) is also used for frame accurate positioning in pause mode. This positioning on the track may then be memorized as a point of CUE/RECALL (9). You will notice that the unit will enter into stutter mode when making your adjustments in pause mode. In conjunction with the JOG MODE (21) button, the JOG WHEEL (22) is used for fast forward/rewind. Both the MPX-40 have a touch sensitive JOG WHEEL (22) & will simulate scratching with a record on a turntable. Use the JOG WHEEL (22) to create precise cuts, scratches, backspins, & more. In pause, SINGLE (24) mode also scans through a track to the point where the music begins. This feature allows you to start play immediately at the beginning of the music without any blank space (which exists at the beginning of every track). Pressing SINGLE a second time activates the CONTINUOUS function causing the unit to play continuously (after the last track, the unit will return to the first track of the disc & continue to play). NOTE: The 100% Pitch setting is for regular CD's and will not work with MP3 CD files. SAMPLER: To store a sample, first you must press MEMO/STORE (12), the blue MEMO/STORE (12) LED will be lit indicating that the unit is ready for sample storage. When the track has reached the desired point at which you would like the sample to begin, select a SAMPLER (14) button where you would like the sample to be stored. When the desired selection has reached the point at which you want the sample to end press the same SAMPLER (14) button you have chosen to save the sample again to end recording. The green SAMPLER (14) LED will remain lit once you have ended the recording. You may press the SAMPLER (14) button to layer the sample over any song. To stop a sample from playing, press the SAMPLER (14) button again while the sample is playing to cut it short. If you are not satisfied with the recording of the sample or its location, simply press the MEMO/STORE (12) button & follow the sampler instructions from the beginning. CUE POINTS: To use the CUE POINTS (13), you must first program the entry point. Press the MEMO/STORE (12) button first to begin storing your CUE POINTS (13). The MEMO/STORE (12) LED will illuminate to indicate that the unit is ready for cue storage. select a location to store your CUE POINTS (13) by choosing one of the 3 CUE POINTS (13) buttons. When the track reaches the point at which you would like your cue to begin, press a CUE POINT (13) button. [. . . ] SLEEP MODE: The MPX-40 feature a default SLEEP mode that activates itself when the unit recognizes that it has not been in use for some time. This feature simply shuts OFF the laser to increase the longevity of the unit's playing capabilities. To deactivate this default mode, begin play & the unit will "wake up" to play music once again. REL AY START JACK (31): This jack makes it possible to connect two MPX-40's together, so that when one unit finishes playing, the opposite unit automatically starts playback. [. . . ]
