[. . . ] Before using the scales for the first time, read this manual carefully to guarantee its correct functioning and extend the life of the appliance. With the following data: Parameter Default programming 170 cm 30 Range The readings for your body fat and water percentage are guidance measurements only. Please consult your doctor for advice on any medication or diet you should follow in order to reach a normal weight. [. . . ] To programme the scales, proceed as follows: NOTE: first read the instructions, as the 20 display will switch off after 10 seconds if it is not changed. When the number beside the icon begins to flash, you can select the desired memory setting (c) by moving up and down with the and buttons (2). To make sure all the parameters have been correctly programmed, press "Set" (3) consecutively when you finish programming. To change from one weight unit to another, use the and buttons (2), and then confirm with the Set button (3). The status line at the bottom of the display, with segments shown in vertical bars (h). This line gives an indication of body fat level, showing how your level compares to the statistical standard, and can be taken as a weight status reference. NOTE: Whenever you press "Set" (3) and switch the scales on again, you can follow steps I ­ V again to check or programme all your personal and previous measurement reports before taking new measurements. WEIGHT MODE PROGRAMMING Step carefully onto the scales (do not jump onto them). You do not need to enter your data each time you switch on the scales in calculation and analysis mode. Select the memory position in which you have entered your personal data using and (2), and wait for the number to stop flashing. The scales are ready when the following appears on the display: Stand on the scales carefully, barefoot and with dry feet. As soon as you stand on the scales the digits on the display will increase. When the digits stop increasing and begin to flash, the scales are showing your real weight. After a few seconds, the scales will show the number of kilocalories or amount of energy you need per day (l), your bone mass (j), muscle mass (k), body water percentage (g) and body fat percentage (i) and, lastly, your body status (h) (1 mark underweight, 2 marks healthy, 3 marks overweight, or 4 marks very overweight). As soon as you stand on the scales the digits on the display will count up and stabilise at your weight. NOTE: For correct weighing, weigh yourself without clothes and without shoes. Always weigh yourself as far as possible in the same circumstances (in the morning before breakfast for example) and at the same time of day. When the battery needs replacing, the following message will appear on the display: Your particular habits and lifestyle affect the body water level balance, as do other factors such as the following: a. [. . . ] At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated waste collection centre or to a dealer providing this service.
