Never use the mower unless the grassbox or guards provided by the manufacturer are in the correct position. Remove plug from mains before adjusting, cleaning or if cable is entangled or damaged. Wait until all machine components have completely stopped before touching them. [. . . ] MAINS PLUG REPLACEMENT - IMPORTANT · If the plug supplied is cut off it should be destroyed. There is an electric shock hazard if a cut off plug is inserted into a 13 amp socket. Flymo products are double insulated to EN60335 and under no circumstances should an earth be connected to any part of the product. The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with E the following code: L RED BLUE NEUTRAL OR F BROWN BROWN LIVE U S BLACK E The wire which is coloured OR N BLUE BLUE must be connected to the Terminal which is marked with the letter 'N' or coloured BLACK. The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the Terminal which is marked with the letter 'L' or coloured RED. 4. It is important that the outer sheath is clamped correctly into the 3-pin plug. 5. If in doubt consult your local Service Repairer or qualified electrician before the machine is used. 7. The normal plug fuse and household fuse only protect the electrical equipment and are not a safeguard against electrocution. If your product is hard wired i. e. non-detachable mains electric cable, a conversion kit and extension cable is available from all Electrolux Outdoor Products Approved Service Centres which can be found in your local Yellow Pages. Handles A B Preparing your lawnmower for use · Your lawnmower is supplied with the upper handle folded over the machine for packing and transportation. (See Figure A) Handle in Operating Position · Lift handle as illustrated in figure B. · Make sure that the cable does not become trapped between the handles Starting and Stopping C D To Start your Lawnmower 1. · Renew your metal blade after 50 hours mowing or 2 years whichever is the sooner - regardless of condition. Never use a blade bolt if the insulated head is damaged cracked or missing. Place the spacers onto the fan ensuring the pegs have located into the holes. (K) 3. Place the blade onto the spacers ensuring the pegs have located into the holes on the blade and ensuring the blades is positioned as illustrated in Figure K. Hold the fan firmly and tighten the blade bolt with the spanner provided. K blade bolt blade fan spacers Removing, Emptying and Refitting the Grassbox Grassbox Full Indicator (if fitted) (M) · · Your lawnmower may be fitted with a grassbox full indicator IMPORTANT The machine must be switched on for the grassbox full indicator to operate When the ball reaches the top of the indicator window, it is time to empty the grassbox. When the ball is NOT visible in the indicator window, grass is being collected. 2. grassbox is empty 5 Removing, Emptying and Refitting the Grassbox cont' M N Emptying the Grassbox · Stop the lawnmower, as described in `To Stop your Lawnmower' and wait until the blade has stopped rotating, BEFORE lifting the grassbox lid. Remove the grassbox using the moulded handle recesses at the front and rear of the grassbox. · Failure to fit the grassbox and grassbox lid correctly will cause poor collection of grass clippings. Grass clippings left in any of the air intakes or under the hood could become a potential fire hazard. Using a soft brush - remove grass clippings from all air intakes and the grassbox.
