Take one end of the helix cable and plug it into the socket at the bottom end of the receiver. Turn the base station over and plug the other end into the lower socket (see Chapter 2, Section Bottom of base unit, Item 7. ). Fit the cable securely in the cable duct. 3. 4 Connecting the telephone Attach the telephone cable (included) to the telephone line socket and the socket (see Chapter 2, Section Bottom of base unit, Item 8. ) on the bottom side of the base station. Thread the cable through the cable duct either towards the top or the bottom out of the telephone housing. The telephone uses tone dialling. 3. 5 Wall mounting The telephone can also be installed on a wall using two screws. Attach the base unit by hooking it over the two screws protruding from the wall and pushing it down a bit. When the phone is mounted on the wall, the receiver can be placed on-hook without breaking the connection. Position the small hook at the top end of the receiver cradle. 5 - Operation 4 4. 1 Operation Telephoning The telephone can be used just like any other conventional telephone. Please follow the instructions below: Pick up the receiver and wait for the dialling tone. [. . . ] When using some older private branch exchanges, it takes a little time before the dialling tone becomes audible. Particularly in the case of such private branch exchanges, it is useful to insert an automatic pause after the number for the outside line so that the number can be dialled in a continuous process without having to wait for the dialling tone. To insert a dialling pause, press the Redial button once after entering the number for the outside line and before entering the actual telephone number. [. . . ]
