[. . . ] 36 Dialling and storing telephone numbers when using on private exchanges . Batteries Do not use any other rechargeable batteries, as these could possibly lead to a short circuit. When changing the battery, always use four new Typs AAA/LR03 Alkaline 1, 5 V batteries. Do not dispose of old or faulty batteries with the normal household waste. [. . . ] Using your telephone you can save 10 numbers on the speed dial buttons. The numbers 0 to 9 on the number pad are used as speed dial storage locations. Enter the required telephone number with a maximum of 16 digits using the number pad. Note: If you enter the wrong number, you can break off the process at this point by replacing the receiver. Now select a speed dial storage location by pressing a number between 0 and 9 on the number pad. Tips on storing numbers: Storage locations that have already been used cannot be erased. Simply save a new number in the storage location that you want to erase. Making a call using the speed dial buttons Now press the required storage location between 0 and 9 on the keypad. With your telephone you can make calling by way of the private telephone network providers considerably easier. Save the access numbers to the private network providers and the actual telephone numbers separately in different storage locations. First dial the memory location for the private network provider and then a direct dial button or over the speed dial button the memory location for the required telephone number or dial the required telephone number manually. For your greeting message, you can either make use of the standard greeting recorded by a professional radio speaker or you can record your own message with a length of up to 60 seconds. If you do not record a message of your own, the standard greeting will be used automatically. Wording of the standard greeting: "Hallo, I am sorry but we are unable to answer your call personally at the moment. Before recording your greeting, you should write down the text that you want to record. The length of your own greeting must be at least 3 seconds and must not exceed 60 seconds. The longer your greeting lasts, the less recording time will be available for incoming messages. If your greeting lasts for 18 seconds, for example, then 14 minutes and 42 seconds remain for incoming messages. Recording your own greeting Press and hold the REC button until you hear a signal tone. 15 cm from the answering machine so that you can speak easily into the microphone on the upper side.
