[. . . ] 1 Intended use The telephone is suitable for telephoning within a public telephone network system. Under no circumstances open the device or complete any repair work yourself. 2 Installation location The telephone is designed for use indoors in rooms with a temperature range from 10 °C to 30 °C. The base station should not be used in rooms exposed to moisture, such as bathrooms or laundries. If you want to send SMS text messages from a private branch exchange extension, it is necessary to store the number for an outside line for your PBX in the handset preceding the Service Center number. When you select writing a new SMS text, the previous text initially appears in the display. Delete the old text by pressing the button before beginning to write the new one. This acoustic signal can be deactivated, if necessary (refer to Section 7. When all the memory locations are full, the oldest entry is deleted from the respective directory when a new SMS text message is received. This function enables SMS text messages, to which only you have access, to be received and sent. The SMS mailbox can only be used when the telephone network provider supports the facility. Therefore, ask your telephone network provider with respect to setting up your personal SMS mailbox. All the telephone answering machine (TAM) functions can be operated via the handset and also directly on the base station. 3 Number of rings (answering delay) You can select from 2 to 9 rings or choose the Tollsaver setting for the pre-remote access function. The pre-remote access function enables contacting the answering machine free of charge to determine whether any new messages have been left.
