[. . . ] In the event of fire, turn off the cooker knobs and switch off the extractor fan. Make sure that there is no sand, sugar or salt on the cooking utensils. Sand can cause scratches, while sugar and salt can ruin the ceramic glass plate. Always dry pots and pans before placing them on the ceramic glass plate. The coloured decor on the ceramic glass plate can become worn and scratched in time after it has been used. The heating zones The knobs for the heating zones are marked from 0 to 12, where 12 provides the highest heat. Do this if you want to use the front zones or the smaller rear one: 1 Turn clockwise to the desired position on the knob to the zone that you have chosen. 2 Zero the knob anti-clockwise after use. 17 Do this if you want to use the rear right-hand large heating zone: 1 Turn the knob clockwise past the symbol after the figure 12, 2 then turn the knob back to the desired position between 12 and 1. You must experiment to find the setting and the heating zone that suits you and your pans, depending on the food that you are preparing. Here is a little guidance (to find the right heating setting): Choice of pan/frying pan A cooker with a ceramic glass plate makes greater demands on your pots and pans that a cooker with heating plates. Pans with a convex bottom (bulging outwards) tend to swivel on the ceramic glass plate and provide poor heating contact. · Aluminium has good heat conductivity, but can leave silvery marks on the plate. Set the desired oven function and temperature. A pre-set temperature is shown in the display. The temperature is first displayed when it reaches 30 oC and higher. 22 4. Set the desired temperature with the buttons or . After about 5 seconds the actual internal temperature is displayed. A signal is heard when the desired temperature is reached. Pull the thermometer contact out of the outlet and take the meat out of the oven with the thermometer still in the meat. Turn off the oven function and the temperature. 23 Do this to readoff and possibly change the temperature: - The set temperature is shown by pressing once on one of the buttons or . or By pressing several times on it is possible to change the set temperature later on. The signal clock This function only provides a signal and can also be used without the oven being switched on. Set the desired time within 5 seconds by using the buttons and (max 99 minutes). The display shows the remaining time after 5 seconds. When the time is up, "00" is displayed and a signal is heard for two minutes. Shut off the signal by pressing any button. 24 Practical use Never lay aluminium foil, a baking tray or a shelf directly on the bottom of the oven. If the bottom heater is blocked, the enamel can be damaged by over-heating. The oven becomes hot when used, KEEP AN EYE ON CHILDREN. In the case of temperature changes and/or food such as pizza being unevenly placed on a shelf, there is risk that the shelf will warp. [. . . ] 2 Loosen and remove the oven step units on the left-hand side (see page 36) 3 Loosen the protective glass with the aid of a narrow, blunt object (for example a teaspoon) and clean it. Hold one hand under the glass so that it does not fall down onto the bottom of the oven. 4 If necessary: Replace the oven lighting and fit a new bulb with an E14 base, marked 230-240V, 25W and 300°C. 38 5 Press the protective glass into position again and fit the step units.
