To revert back to the phone’s default mode, tap Default Mode; otherwise, choose another mode to use. 37 Putting your smartphone in Airplane mode You can enter Airplane mode (also known as flight mode) to turn off telephone, wireless, and Bluetooth functions and use your smartphone as a handheld device during a flight. Adjusting settings This section will show you how to adjust detailed settings for your phone, data, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections. 38 Activating or deactivating connections Open the Application menu and tap Settings to manage your connection settings. Item Description SIM management Under SIM INFORMATION, both SIM cards are listed. Tap the SIM card name to display basic settings and tap on or off to activate or deactivate the SIM, respectively. Voice call: Use one SIM card for all phone calls or select which SIM card to use every call. Messaging: Use one SIM card for all messages or select which SIM card to use every message. Data connection: Use one SIM card for all data connections or select which SIM card to use every time you connect. 3G service: Select the SIM card that uses a 3G connection and the network mode. Tip: When you are traveling, manually selecting a network may help to reduce your roaming charges. Check with your home service provider for the network offering the most competitive rates at your destination. Note: Contact your service provider should you have any problems obtaining voice mail and the text message service center numbers. Data usage control settings Data usage controls let you monitor total usage by network type and application and then set limits if needed. To access the Data usage settings, from the Application menu tap Settings > Data usage. Note: To set a data limit, Wi-Fi or Mobile data must be enabled. Phone settings Many phone settings are automatically configured by your smartphone when you insert a SIM card. The device will communicate with your provider and automatically obtain all necessary settings, such as network name, voice mail and text message center numbers. 41 You can also view and modify these settings manually through the Call settings screen. Tap the Menu icon > Settings. Sound To adjust your phone’s sound settings, in the Application menu tap Settings > Sound.
